Fast forward many years, and their paths almost crossed again in the most unromantic place imaginable: the Kaiser pharmacy in Napa. Danyelle spotted Ryan, but due to feeling "unpresentable" (we all know the feeling!), she chose the stealth exit. The real spark ignited not in person, but in the most 21st-century way possible: a Facebook message. Danyelle messaged to confirm the pharmacy sighting, and Ryan—ever direct—responded with the classic line: “You should have said hi,” and suggested a drink for her next visit. Their courtship took patience. While waiting for the drink, they navigated the trenches of modern domesticity: house paint. Ryan was choosing a color, and Danyelle ended up helping him pick the perfect shade of charcoal grey. It wasn't exactly fireworks, but it was real life—a shared decision that proved they were connecting over more than just nostalgia. After months of this charming, slow-burn digital flirtation, Danyelle finally took the plunge and met him for that long-awaited drink. And that was it. The high school friendship that had taken a detour across decades was finally ready for its next chapter. They are now officially a package deal: falling in love, planning their future, and chasing every adventure they can find.
